Ian T. Jones
Ian T. Jones is a composer and percussionist from Mebane, NC. He is pursuing a B.M. in Music Composition and Percussion Performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro under the direction of Drs. Eric Willie, Mark Engebretson, and Alejandro Rutty.

Ian is an established composer with his music being sought after by various ensembles. Selected ensembles Ian has worked with include the Red Clay Saxophone Quartet, the Imposter Trio, the Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Northwest Guilford Percussion Ensemble. Ian’s music can be found on his website and on Tapspace Publications. Ian is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

An avid percussionist, Ian has performed at the annual Percussive Arts Society International Convention in 2021, consistently premieres new music from students and established composers such as Steven Bryant and James Lee III, and has been a member in the UNCG Wind Ensemble, University Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and the Present-Continous New Music Ensemble. Additionally, he attended the 2019 North Carolina Governor’s School West where he performed and studied under esteemed conductor Orlando Cela and percussionist Peter Zlotnick.
He is currently a percussion instructor at Northwest Guilford in Greensboro, NC.
